Williamson Athletic News

Playing the #2 ranked team in the nation is hard enough as it is.  Playing them on the road makes the task even more difficult.  Playing them without three-year starting point guard Andre Merrell (SR/Chester, PA) might have seem like an even more daunting task for Williamson however that was anything but evident in Tuesday night's game against #2 Central Penn.  Despite missing Merrell due to an undisclosed injury, Williamson battled the entire game before coming up just short in a 66-61 loss at Central Penn.

Williamson's defense held Central Penn to just 30% shooting from the field, as they held the Knights, who had scored over 100 points their last 6 games, to just 66 points.  Rebounding is what hurt the Mechanics though as the Knights outrebound them, 49-28.

Playing his first game in over two weeks, Williamson's Ryan Carlino (JR/Lancaster, PA) scored a game high 17 points while adding six rebounds.  Filling in at point guard, Kyre Freeman had nine points and eleven assists for the Mechanics.

Williamson falls to 21-5 on the year.  They next take on Montgomery County Community College at home this Thursday in a 7:30 P.M. start.
