Williamson senior wrestler Isiah Taltoan (SR/Lancaster, PA) took second place at the 2017 USCAA National Wrestling championships at Penn State University this past weekend.

Competing in the 235-pound weight class, Taltoan defeated Joseph Blanco from the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford via pin in the first round.  He then upset #1 seed Martin Venable from Penn State Schuylkill in the quarterfinal round.  In the semifinal round, he won a hard fought battle over Matt Lattuca from Lehigh University by a score of 11-9.  Unfortunately, his semifinal match, he injured his knee and had to default the final match against Jake Bennett from Alderson Broaddus University.  Despite that loss, he still came home with a silver place medal.

Williamson finished 11th out of 14 teams at the national event.  They next take on Ursinus College and Penn State Mont Alto this Saturday, February 18 at Ursinus before taking part in the 2017 NCWA Mid East District Championships on February 25th in Trenton, NJ.
