Williamson Athletic News
Baseball - Sun, Apr. 30, 2017

Despite a valiant effort, Williamson's baseball team closed out their 2017 season with two close losses against host Central Penn on Saturday.

James Muscarella (JR/West Chester, PA) gave a strong pitching performance in the opening game but got no run support as the Mechanics fell, 3-1.

In the nightcap, it was the exact opposite as the Mechanic bats gave Williamson an 8-0 lead early on however their pitching could not hold it for them as the Knights came storming back to pull things out late, 9-8.

Despite the losses and having 19 games canceled due to weather related conditions, Williamson still managed to close out their season with a winning record at 6-5.  The even better news for the Mechanics is they lose just three seniors, Jon Collins (SR/Briarcliffe, PA), Brandon Almonte and Ian Whitman (SR/Jonestown, PA).  The rest of the squad returns next season and so the future looks bright for Williamson baseball.
