Tennis players Joe Marchozzi, John Coleman and Ryan Haines were all named to the 2017 USCAA Tennis All-Academic squad

Williamson tennis players Joe Marchozzi (JR/Conshohocken, PA), Ryan Haines (JR/Aston, PA) and John Coleman (FR/Chichester, PA) were each named to the 2017 USCAA All-Academic Tennis team, as announced recently by the organization.

That the trio was named to the squad comes as no surprise as all three had outstanding years, both on and off the courts.  A two-year starter, Marchozzi played #3 Singles and #2 Doubles for the Mechanics and won the team's Most Improved Player award at the end of the season.  He also was a team captain.

A fellow team captain, Haines also was a two-year starter.  His play at #5 Singles and #3 Doubles helped Williamson capture their second EPAC title in three years.  He also was Williamson's starting soccer  goalie and helped lead Williamson to one of their best soccer seasons in recent memory.  In addition to his being named to the All-Academic Tennis team, he was also named to the 2016 USCAA Soccer All-Academic team this past Fall.

Coleman was a huge reason the team had the success that it did in 2017.  He played #2 Singles and #1 Doubles and despite constantly facing some of the top players in the country, managed to help Williamson defeat rival Bucks County Community College for the EPAC title.  He also was a key component to Williamson's soccer success this past year as well.

This past Spring, Williamson's tennis team experienced their finest season yet since the school added tennis as a varsity sport in 2010 as they captured their second EPAC title in three years, and recently had a school record four players advance to the semi-final round of the 2017 NJCAA Region XIX Men's tournament.
