Mechanics Stun Mercer
Both teams started slowly, with Williamson leading 1-0. The Mechanics then blew the doors open on things in the second period, as they outscored the hosts, 6-1 to lead 7-1 at half. A stunned Vikings team never recovered, as they continued to trail, 8-2 after three periods.
Having defeated Williamson 14-7 at Williamson earlier in the year, no doubt the host felt like they would have their way with the Mechanics. Williamson was having none of it however, as they dominated from start to finish.
"A key measuring stick is how we can do against a team we lost to earlier in the year. To turn things around in such a dramatic fashion shows how hard our guys have been working. Their hard work is paying off an it is great to see. I'm very happy for them," shared Williamson head coach Jim DeRose.
The win was Williamson's fourth in a row and fifth out of their last six games. They next host Del Tech on Sunday at 12:00 P.M.
