Six Football Players Named to 2025 USCAA National All-Academic squad
Six Williamson football players were recently named to the 2025 United States Collegiate Athletic Association's Fall National All Academic team. Those named to the squad were seniors Tyler Brauer, Dylan Brophy and Adam Simmins, along with juniors Nathan Barnshaw, Ryan Creegan and Matt Howard.
In order to be considered for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a starter or significantly contribute to his team's success, as well as maintain an overall Grade Point Average of 3.50 or better. Freshmen are not eligible for the award.
A three-year starter on the offensive line, Simmins was a key part of the team's success on the offensive side of the ball all three years. He also won the same honor in 2024.
A 2024 winner of the award as well, Brauer had 14 tackles. 1.5 sacks and three tackles for loss at his defensive tackle position.
Brophy rebounded from shoulder surgery that curtailed his season in 2024, to bounce back with 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and a half a sack.
Creegan was second on the team in tackles with 35, including 2.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
Howard was a force on the offensive line once again this year after starting last year as well as just a freshman.
Barnshaw was second on the team in receptions with 15 for 186 yards (12.4 yds/catch) and three touchdowns. He was second on the team in All Purpose yards per game and also managed to complete a pass for a touchdown.
"Being a football player at Williamson takes a great deal of hard work and sacrifice. What these six guys earned is a tremendous honor. They put in a great deal of time to be successful at the highest levels on the field and in the classroom and we could not be prouder of them," shared Director of Athletics Susan Moffitt.
