MEDIA, Pa. – The Williamson College of the Trades football team picked up its first win of the season as the Mechanics downed CAPP Academy 28-2 on Saturday afternoon.

- Ryan Creegan topped WT with 12 tackles.
- Robert Knapp had a big game with nine tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss.
- Logan Peck tallied two sacks, 4.5 TFL and had three QB hurries.

- Carson Steinruck and TayShaun Bennett split the workload in the running game, picking up 37 and 36 yards, respectively. Bennett also ran for a touchdown.
- Joseph Collachi and Shawn Bedwell also ran for scores.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After both teams struggled to move the ball early, the Mechanics got the first of their turnovers on the day as Knapp forced a fumble deep in CAPP territory. Chase Witmeyer scooped up the ball and ran it 22 yards into the end zone for a 6-0 Williamson lead with 1:05 remaining in the first quarter.
- Six minutes into the second frame, WT forced a turnover on downs and took over at the CAPP Academy 39-yard line. Bennett and Steinruck alternated carried down to the 15 where Bennett took the handoff on a first down play and scampered into the end zone. The two-point conversion run by Bedwell was good, putting the Mechanics on top 14-0.
- Another strong defensive stand forced a turnover on downs again, capped by back-to-back sacks from Dominick Gallo and Peck.
- Taking over this time at the CAPP 25, Williamson relied on Collachi on this drive as he picked up 16 of his rushing yards on the afternoon, helping to move the ball down to the one-yard line. From there, Bedwell punched it in as WT took a 21-0 lead into halftime.
- The third quarter was a defensive contest with neither team scoring until CAPP came up with a safety with 1:14 to go.
- Midway through the fourth, the Mechanics' defense once again stood tall, forcing an intentional grounding call on a fourth down play. Already just five yards from paydirt, Williamson needed just two plays for Collachi to rush the ball across the goal line from two yards out for the final score of the contest.
