Seniors Honored; Wrestling Falls to Rowan

On a night when Williamson honored its six senior wrestlers, gave Rowan University a battle before running out of gas at the end, as they fell to the Profs, 30-16.

Prior to the match, Williamson head coach Ron Frank paid tribute to each of the Williamson's six senior wrestlers:  Marquan Coleman, Louis Milione, Michael Kling, Jason Tokolics, Jeremy Bony and David DiCampli.   He shared what their future plans were, as well as some of their favorite memories of being a part of the Williamson wrestling program.

Once the match started, it was neck and neck early on.  After double forfeits at 125 and 133 pounds, Williamson's Liam Kernan won a convincing 8-3 triumph at 141 lbs. to put Williamson up, 3-0

After dropping at pin at 149 lbs., Alexander Gamble-Williams tied things at 6-6 with a big 16-9 win at 157 lbs.  Michael Kling continued his winning ways, as gained a majority 15-4 win at 165 lbs.

After dropping a pin at 174 lbs. top fall behind 12-10, Nurrideen Ahmad-Statts, wrestling his first match of the second semester, fell behind 3-0 early before he brought the house down with a pin in just 58 seconds at 184 to give Williamson its last lead of the night at 16-12.  Rowan would win the final four matches to take home the 30-16 win.

Williamson now turns its attention to the 2025 NCWA Mid East Conference championships next weekend, hosted by the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.   That tournament serves as the national qualifier for the 2025 NCWA national championships to be held in Shreveport, Louisiana on  March 10-12.
