Wrestling Gets Five Through to NCWA Nationals

Building off last year's momentum that saw them qualify four for the 2024 NCWA National championships, this year's Williamson wrestling team topped that, as they qualified five for this year's 2025 NCWA National championships at the Mid East Conference championships held at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

Leading the way for Williamson was juniors Liam Kernan (141 lbs.) and Harry Asencio (285 lbs.) and freshman Nurrideen Ahmad-Statts (184 lbs.), who all took home second place finishes. Senior Michael Kling (157 lbs.) and junior Vince Piermatteo (285 lbs.)  took third place finishes to punch their ticket to Nationals.

Competing in perhaps the toughest conference in the NCWA, Williamson managed to finish fifth overall in the team standings out of 14 teams.

The 2025 NCWA National championships take place Shreveport, Louisiana on March 13-15.
