Valiant Effort Falls Short as Mechanics Fall to Manor College

The first time Williamson faced Manor College back in December, to say things didn't go well for Williamson might be a bit of an understatement.  The Mechanics were manhandled by their USCAA Division I and fellow ESAC member to the tune of 78-45.  With that in mind, few people gave Williamson much of a chance in tonight's rematch.  Williamson however, shocked those people and put a scare into their opponent, before running out of gas in the end of a 65-54 loss on Tuesday night.

Williamson quickly found themselves down 11-4 to start the game before they went on a 13-0 run to go up 17-11 at the 10:59 mark.  They would stretch that lead to their largest lead on the night at 21-13 with 7:58 left in the half, before the Blue Jays would go on a 13-4 run to grab a 26-25 halftime lead.

The second half went back and forth before Williamson went on an 8-0 run with 10:52 left in the contest to go up 43-36.  Manor would fight back, but Williamson still had a 46-44 lead with 6:50 left before the visitors took the lead for good on back-to-back three-pointers with 5:56 left, and pulled away at the end for the victory. 

Williamson played well defensively, as they forced 17 turnovers and came up with 11 steals.  They also outrebounded their guests, 38-32 but they themselves committed 21 turnovers and shot just 43 percent from the free throw line on the night.   The biggest difference was Manor hitting nine 3-pointers to just one for Williamson. 

Rob Whiley had 17 points, four rebounds and two assists to lead Williamson, while Semaj Chery added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Mechanics.

Williamson hits the road on Thursday as they will make-up a game at Lehigh Carbon in a 7:00 P.M> start.  They will then go right back at it on Friday in another make-up game at Bucks in a 5:00 P.M. star
