MEDIA, Pa. - Misael Santana hit a fadeawdy jumper with 2.8 seconds remaining as the Williamson College of the Trades basketball team held off the Central Penn Knights, 58-56 on Wednesday evening.
BY THE NUMBERS
- A'Jaad White had his eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
- Liam Rardin scored 13 and pulled in nine boards.
- Santana scored 13. Isaiah Williams scored 10.
- Taj Cobbs had a career-high eght assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was a tight batle throughout until the four minte mark when Williamson began a 9-2 run to close the half and lead 37-28 at the break
- WT continued to lead the entire second half, but couldn't pull away from a feisty Knights squad.
- Matt Flint scored on a cut to the basket with 4:39 remaining to give the Mechanics a 56-49 lead. Willliamson would not score again, however for four-and-a-half minutes as Central Penn tied the game on a free throw with 19 seconds left.
- On the ensuing offensive possession, Rardin found Santana on the left blocks. Santana's shot was pure and gave Williamson the margin it needed for the win.
