Blistering Start Leads Basketball to Win at HACC
HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Williamson College of the Trades basketball team ran out to a 17-0 start and placed five players in double figures on its way to a 74-67 win against Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- A'Jaad White had his fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds. He now ranks third in USCAA D2 in rebounds per game with 14.3.
- Ronald Johnson scored 17 with and dished six assists.
- Misael Santana tallied 16 and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
- Liam Rardin netted 11. Isaiah Williams scored his first collegiate points, ending up with 10.
- As a team, the Mechanics shot 50 percent from the game and 73.7 percent at the line, both season highs.
- WT forced 19 HACC turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A relentless start on both ends of the floor by Williamson saw the Mechanics make eight of their first 13 shots and open a 19-2 lead on a tip-in by Williams with 13:27 to go in the opening frame,
- WT maintained the advantage, never letting the Hawks come closer than 14 during the first half, on its way to a 43-26 lead at the break.
- HACC made a second half run, closing the gap to 54-46 with 10:41 to play.
- Williamson proceeded to score 13 of the next 15 points, with White and Santana each scoring five in the strech, extending the lead back to 67-48.
- Harrisburg made the final closer than the game with a late run, but the advantage for WT was too much to climb.

The Mechanics are in action next Saturday, traveling to Delaware County Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
