MEDIA, Pa. - The Williamson College of the Trades baseball team got its season off to a good start with a sweep of an ESAC doubleheader against the Manor Blue Jays, winning the opening game 2-1 and taking the second contest 12-2.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Daniel Gross had three hits across the two games.
- Michael Sheller and Cole Locklear each had two.
- Jacob Naumann struck out seven, allowing one run in four innings in the opener.
- Daniel Gross came away with a complete game, fanning four in the second contest.
NOTABLE
- Manor got on the board with a run in the top of the first of game one.
- The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth when the Mechanics scored two timed.
- Phil Martini came on in the top of the seventh to record the save.
- In the second game, WT scored single runs in the first and second innings. Manor tied it with two runs in the third.
- Williamson put the game away with an eight-run fourth and plated two more in the fifth to invoke the run rule.
