Another Game, Another Comeback Win
As has been the trend so far this season, the start of recent baseball games has not been going in favor of Williamson. The endings though have been a different story, as they have been able to rally to gain come from behind victories, several from multiple runs back. Saturday proved to keep that trend going, as the Mechanics fell behind early, rallied to take a lead only to fall behind big late before once again rallying for a 10-8 first game victory over Patrick Henry College.
A very sound Patrick Henry squad grabbed an early 3-0 lead. Williamson would then rally to take a 4-3 lead on the strength of a 3-run home run by Joshua Illing to go up 4-3.
The visitors would then rally to go up 8-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth. As has been the case lately, Williamson had their foe exactly where they wanted them. A Cody Grande 3-run home run brought the Mechanics to within 8-7. Williamson would then tie it up on a steal of home by Daniel Gross. They then would then tack on two more runs to go up 10-8 heading into the seventh inning. Williamson then turned to relief ace Hagan Nagle to close things out, and he did just that to give Williamson to win and raise their record to 9-2.
